Customizable Itinerary

DAY 1

On arrival day, we’ll pick you up from the airport and settle you into your hotel. Then, enjoy a half-day city tour that includes visits to the Gandan Temple, Sukhbaatar Square, and the National Museum. The day will conclude with a taste of traditional food and a performance by the Tumen-Ekh Ensemble.

DAY 2

Stage 1 — 50 km to Terelj National Park
Start riding straight from your hotel. The first 20 km rolls out on tarmac heading east, then the off-road begins — and you’re officially out of the city. The trail climbs gradually through the Shiljiree Valley before two shorts, but punchy mountain passes wake up your legs. After that, the landscape opens into Terelj National Park. Ride along forested hills and granite formations until reaching the riverside camp. Overnight in a ger camp.

DAY 3

Stage 2 — 35 km to Gunj (Princess) Lodge
Cycle along the Tuul River upstream, following a mix of smooth dirt, riverbank tracks, and a few sandy patches. After crossing the Bayan River, the valley narrows into a quiet corridor of larch forest, granite cliffs, and clear river bends — classic Terelj scenery. The final stretch follows gentle single-track and open meadow roads leading to Gunj Lodge. Overnight at the lodge.

DAY 4

Stage 3 — Princess Temple Ruins to Kharztai Spring — 65 km
Visit the Princess Temple ruins in the morning, tucked deep in the forest. Return to the Tuul River valley and continue riding toward the Zamt Pass — a solid but fully rideable climb. From the top, it’s a long, satisfying descent all the way to Kharztai Spring. Tonight’s camp sits among beautiful mountains, nomad families, grazing animals, and a sky full of stars as your reward.

DAY 5

Stage 4 — Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex & 13th Century Park — 66 km
Ride through broad steppe valleys where modern nomads move with their herds. Visit two major cultural sites today: the giant Chinggis Statue complex and the open-air 13th Century Park. You’ll get a deeper look at Mongolia’s history, traditions, and warrior culture before continuing to camp.

DAY 6

Stage 5 — Nalaikh Area to Taij Mountain — 70 km
Today mixes paved sections with wide gravel tracks. Ride along rolling steppe and visit a local nomad family to experience real countryside life — dairy, livestock, stories, everything. Continue toward Taij Mountain, ending the day surrounded by quiet hills and open landscape.

DAY 7

Stage 6 — Return to Ulaanbaatar — 30 km
A short final stage. About half of today is paved road leading back toward the capital. Enjoy the last easy spins, the smell of the steppe, and the final views before rolling back into Ulaanbaatar. Check into the hotel and relax.
