On arrival day, we’ll pick you up from the airport and settle you into your hotel. Then, enjoy a half-day city tour that includes visits to the Gandan Temple, Sukhbaatar Square, and the National Museum. The day will conclude with a taste of traditional food and a performance by the Tumen-Ekh Ensemble.
The 230 km journey leads to Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a granite massif rich in historical and archaeological sites. The area is home to wildlife like ibex, wild sheep, gazelles, foxes, and birds such as cinereous vultures and rock sparrows. While the Gobi Desert lacks trees, you'll spot aspen trees growing between the rocks, adding a unique touch to the landscape. Except for the first and last days in Ulaanbaatar, we will spend every night at a ger camp throughout the trip.
After a mostly tarmac drive, with the final kilometers off-road, we’ll reach Bayan Zag (Flaming Cliffs) by afternoon. After a hot shower and an hour's rest at the Ger camp, we'll head out for a hike to explore the site and uncover why it’s so famous.
On the way to the Khongoriin Els sand dunes, we'll spot gazelles and various birds, while passing the stunning Gurvan Saikhan Mountains. By lunchtime, we’ll arrive at the majestic Gobi Sand Dunes. Here, you’ll have the chance to challenge yourself by climbing a 200m-high dune and enjoy playing in the sands, all while taking in the awe-inspiring scenery.
Our adventure takes us to the stunning Yoliin Am Gorge, passing through the rugged Dungenee Valley on a bumpy road. Along the way, we’ll visit local families before enjoying a hike or horseback ride through the breathtaking gorge. In the afternoon, we’ll continue to Tsagaan Suvarga for our next stop.
On the last day in the Gobi, we explore the incredible Tsagaan Suvarga, or "White Stupa." This stunning natural landmark is known for its white, towering cliffs that resemble a Buddhist stupa. Shaped by wind and erosion, the cliffs showcase unique, multi-colored formations, making it a perfect spot for photography and hiking. Then, we should continue our journey back north for another fun day at Terelj National Park.
On the final day of the trip, we will visit the Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex and then head to the Aryabal Meditation Temple. You’ll have time for photography at the iconic Turtle Rock. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner before returning to the Bayangol Hotel for your overnight stay.
On your departure day, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight home and bid you a fond farewell.
