We will pick you up from the airport, and once you've settled into your hotel, the guide will take you to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Afterward, you'll start exploring attractions near the center of Ulaanbaatar. These include Gandan (the largest monastery in the capital city), Sukhbaatar (the capital’s imposing central square), and Chinggis Khaan National Museum. We will then go and see a concert performed by the Tumen-Ekh Ensemble, Mongolia’s premier traditional performance group. The concert features folk and traditional music, song, Mongolian deep throat singing, dance and contortion. It is truly excellent.
Mini Naadam festival day. It’s held on the Mongolian steppe around 60km from Ulaanbaatar, and you’ll get to see multiple rounds of wrestling , horse racing and archery.There’s also yak carts, camels and plenty of traditional customes for photo ops, as well as beauty contests and traditional food.
From there, we’ll head to Khustai National Park to observe the wild Takhi (Przewalski’s horse) and other wildlife. At the small museum, you’ll also watch a short documentary about the reintroduction of the wild Takhi, which survived in European zoos before being reintroduced to their homeland, Mongolia. Enjoy your time staying in a ger (yurt), which may be a first-time experience for you.
We’ll begin the day by visiting Aglag Buteel Temple, a peaceful Buddhist site in the Mongolian countryside, where you can explore the temple and learn about its spiritual significance.
One of the highlights of the day is a visit to a nomad family, where you’ll experience the authentic rural life of Mongolia. In the afternoon, we’ll head to Terelj National Park, known for its stunning landscapes and striking rock formations, including the famous Turtle Rock. We’ll also hike to the Aryabal Meditation Temple, perched in the mountains, offering breathtaking vistas and a moment of reflection. You’ll stay overnight at a ger camp in the park.
On the final day of the trip, we’ll visit the Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex, home to a 40-meter-high statue of the legendary Mongolian king, Chinggis Khaan. You’ll have the chance to explore the monument, learn about the history of this iconic figure, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape from the statue’s observation deck.
Next, we’ll head to the 13th Century Complex, which consists of six unique camps and tribes, all built in the traditional 13th-century style. Visitors are encouraged to respect the park’s customs and ancient traditions. The complex aims to provide an authentic environment that reflects the daily life and work of the 13th century. You’ll have the opportunity to learn traditional Mongolian script, try your hand at horseback and camel riding, practice using a lasso pole, and watch traditional craftsmen at work or experience shamanistic rituals. This place will give you deeper insights into the history of the Mongol Empire and the era of Chinggis Khaan.
Afterward, we’ll enjoy lunch at the complex before returning to your hotel in Ulaanbaatar. To conclude your journey, the guide will host a farewell dinner to say goodbye.
On your departure day, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight home and bid you a fond farewell.
