Today we will explore the bustling capital Ulaanbaatar. Highlights include the Chinggis Khaan Museum (or Museum of National History) and a fantastic concert showcasing national music, dance and folklore.
We will visit the Chinggis Khan Monument, the tallest equestrian statue of the world at Tsonjin Boldog and the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park with its distinctive rock formations and beautiful landscapes.
We will drive to our put-in point on the river near the village of Bugant, about 620 km from Ulaanbaatar. We will pass through Darkhan, the second biggest city of Mongolia.
These are paddling days. Overnight will be in tents. Each day we will spend approximately 4-5 hours in the canoe, giving us ample time to enjoy camp life and explore the area along the river banks. The surrounding hilltops and mountains offer great vistas of the winding Yeruu river and the adjoining valleys, sprinkled with nomads’ yurts and herds.
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we will visit the Buddhist monastery Aglag Buteeliin Khiid, beautifully nestled between forests and rocky outcrops. After you had time to refresh in your hotel room, we will have a farewell dinner.
